Your carpets are showing signs of age, even though they are only a couple of years old. There have been numerous ‘accidents’ over those couple of years and while you’ve scrubbed the stains as best you could, it has still left some residual reminders behind.
You understand that a professional carpet cleaning service would be the best option moving forward, but maybe you can’t afford that right now or there’s going to be a big function at your house over the summer and you simply want to wait until as close to that event as possible to have them professionally cleaned.
That’s okay, even though it’s not the best idea.
It’s always best to have stains removed as quickly as possible. A quality carpet cleaning service should offer spot cleaning as an option, which is more affordable than having the entire house or even an entire room completely and thoroughly cleaned with truck mounted equipment and the best solutions.
In the meantime, though, if you have chosen to wait, you don’t want to keep looking at those stains. You also want to keep people from walking across them, which will work the staining material even deeper.
One of the best ways to ‘hide’ some of these stains from view is to rearrange the furniture. If it’s a living room, for example, you may have an end table, coffee table, recliner, couch, and so on. If the furniture can be re-arranged in such a way as to place the main part of the furniture over those stains, that will prevent an eyesore and other issues from developing.
Whatever you do, be careful about using certain cleaning solutions. You want to do a spot test and see if it might cause discoloration or other issue on this part of the carpet before you do it in the main area. If the cleaning solution bleaches or discolors the carpet in any way, at least when it’s done in a hidden area it won’t feel as devastating as trying it right out there in the open.
Just remember nothing is better than an experienced and professional carpet cleaning service to remove stains, no matter how old they happen to be.

Your husband was working on the car recently. He’s usually diligent about removing his shoes while working outside, but this time he was in a bit of a hurry. He didn’t realize there was some grease that got onto the sole of the shoe. He tracked that in and while wiping it up from the linoleum tile surface of the kitchen was no big deal, he went into the bedroom for something and that’s where you noticed more tracks.
How do you vacuum your house? Do you basically take the vacuum cleaner out, run it back and forth across the carpeting, and in generally the same direction every single time? That’s okay, most people do.
Assuming that ‘environmentally safe’ cleaning products are actually safe is doing a disservice to an individual and/or his or her family. While many ‘environmentally safe’ cleaning products for the home are healthy enough, not all of them are actually as safe as they may appear. On top of that, they may seem to clean ‘on the surface’ well enough, but they are doing little to help protect people from various health risks.
