The Attachments You Should Add When Buying a New Vacuum

vacuum-Purchasing a new vacuum cleaner for your house can sometimes be a bit exciting. It’s a new opportunity to try a newer model, something different, and maybe learn mistakes from your previous purchase. A lot of people try to save as much money as possible and go cheap, but they quickly realize that you really do get what you pay for when it comes to a new vacuum cleaner.

Whatever type of vacuum cleaner you are going to get, make sure you have the right attachments. There are five key attachments every homeowner should have for their vacuum cleaner that will help them not just keep their carpets and other floor surfaces cleaner, but make it easier to keep up with the cleanliness inside the house.

Make sure it has a brushroll/beater bar.

Believe it or not, not every vacuum cleaner has a beater bar. Some are specifically intended for hardwood or tile floor surfaces. A beater bar is essential for area rugs and carpeting. If you don’t get one with the beater bar, your carpets will not get clean.

Make sure it offers adjustable height.

Unless every room in your house has the same surface, such as all hardwood or tiled floors, you’ll want to have an adjustable height. You should adjust height for deep pile carpet, area rugs, and hardwood floor surfaces. Whatever is recommended for the specific surface, use those recommendations. Don’t try to vacuum at the same height because it just won’t produce good results.

Consider a telescoping wand.

This can help you get cobwebs along the ceiling and where the ceiling meets the walls, and also help you keep the drapery, blinds, and moldings clean.

A retractable cord.

If you have to constantly roll up the court manually, you will be far less likely to pull the vacuum cleaner out for a simple quick vacuum job in any room. That could lead to more dirt building up over time.

Consider a crevice tool.

Getting into those nooks and crannies throughout your house doesn’t have to be frustrating and challenging, at least when you have a crevice tool. When you consider these attachments, it will help you narrow your focus and ultimately help you keep your carpets a bit cleaner.
